BESSEY MODEL D48A, Offset blades on these metal snips angle up from the handles and provide clearance between the user's hand and the material being cut. This reduces the risk of contact with sharp edges and burs. The blades sit flush against surfaces to aid long, straight cuts. General purpose snips cut mild steel and other thinner gauge sheet metal in applications where specialized snips are not required.
