PROTO MODEL J1430G, Non-sparking engineering hammers contain no ferrous metals, so they resist creating sparks. This reduces the risk of ignition when hammering in environments where combustible dust or flammable liquids, gas, or vapors are present. Also known as engineer's hammers, they have a longer handle and wider head to gain greater momentum and hit harder than drilling hammers. They are commonly used to form metal and break wood or stone.
