DAYTON MODEL 1EVG2, Portable electric baseboard heaters use convection heating and don't have moving parts, so they're quieter than most other types of heaters. Some heaters have an electric element that's encased in an oil-filled vessel to provide consistent heat, while others have elements encased in a metal sheath with aluminum fins to transfer heat. They are typically placed along the wall in office spaces to provide spot or supplementary heat.
