Workers walk around grounds to apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides to commercial and residential landscaping and green areas. Janitors and cleaning staff wear backpack sprayers around a facility to dispense cleaning solutions, disinfectants, or degreasers. Sprayers also apply sealants to wood or concrete surfaces and pretreatment or deicing chemicals for snow and ice removal.
