They have more open space below their platform than scissor-lift tables and are used for transferring and positioning dies and other large, heavy parts in manufacturing, repair, assembly, and other industrial tasks. The tables' hydraulic lifting mechanism is controlled with a foot pump, and they have brakes or floor locks that can be engaged to prevent the tables from moving unexpectedly.
