NORTON MODEL 66261009585, Coating-removal discs for use on thin-gauge metal have an extra-coarse silicon carbide abrasive. Abrasives for thin-gauge materials remove less materials than other abrasives to maintain the workpiece profile. Extra-coarse nonwoven coating-removal abrasives clean welds and strip rust, paint, and corrosion without modifying the shape of the workpiece. Silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic abrasive that provides a fine finish in low-pressure applications such as finishing and painting preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide.
